Jeremy has a fear of going #2 in the potty. So he has been on and off and on and off the toilet since 9:00 this morning. Can’t run errands if my 2 year old won’t go #2 b/c I know the minute I put him in his carseat he’ll lay an egg. Grrrr!! He finally went, but I am pretty sure he wasn’t done. Oh well. Nap time is soon and I will run out quickly during their naps I guess.
It took me 5 days total to potty train Brianna. The first two days were hellish for both of us. But by day 3 life had gotten easier in that department and by day 5 she had it down to a science. No overnight accidents. No worries after that week.
I decided to take it easier on Jeremy than her for a lot of different reasons. First, no kid is the same and not all kids respond the same. Second, the urgency to get out of diapers isn’t as fierce b/c he’s the only one in diapers. When I trained her it was a matter of saving money as well as relieving me of having to change double duty diapers all darn day long. Third, I’ve been told time and again that boys are harder to train and that they take longer. So far I think Jeremy has been relatively easy to train. It’s the #2 that we’re stuck on. The #1 is going well and no accidents in 2 days.
So half my day has been wasted in the bathroom. The only chores I’ve been able to get done are folding and putting away one load of laundry, cleaning up the breakfast mess, sweeping the kitchen floor, and running a 2nd load of laundry through the washer and dryer (still not folded though). And I have to read my most interesting book too because I didn’t get to that last night as I intended. I was too tired.
I hate it when I want to get 100 things done and I only get 2 done. That means tomorrow I’m going to have 200 things to do (well, 198 anyway). Grrr!
Have a productive Thursday if you can. And think of me because I’m sure we’ll be in the bathroom a lot more this afternoon after naps. Ugh!
