Just Say It

Now That’s Beautiful November 18, 2008

My English 101 instructor did this experiment.
I thought it was incredible.
And it made me think.
Judge not lest ye be judged.
I have SUCH a hard time with that one.

What is beautiful to you?

  1. Great post, but on a completely unrealted goofy note, I hope 4th from the bottom does not get a big ol’ beer belly or he’ll be in trouble with his permanent “name tag.” :0)

Roxx: You are a hoot! I have never wanted a tattoo on my stomach for that exact reason — well, not beer, but babies and being stretched out. Bet that would look funny too. Suddenly a cute butterfly on a little pre-pregnancy belly turns into a pterodactyl. LOL!!

Here’s the way I look at. God gave us all our own unique beauty. Everytime I feel myself judging someone for whatever reason (the color of their hair, the shape of their body, whatever) I stop myself and find something positive about the person that I DO like. Believe me, I like beauty as much as the next person, but I have met some people that are incredibly beautiful on the inside.

  4. 2 sayings come to mind: “Beauty is only skin deep” and “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Beauty comes in all sizes, shapes and colors. In my eyes, the least beautiful is #5. I am allergic to smoke but believe a woman does herself no favor at all (translate that downgrades herself) by smoking. I find the most beautiful one the very last one. Wrinkles beyond wrinkles cannot hide the love and beauty on the inside. Way to make me think Heidi.

  5. candidchatter Says:

Bill: The picture in #5 of the blond smoking is this young lady http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2006/celebdatabase/britneyspears/britney_spears1_300_400.jpg. Does that change anything? If you didn’t know she smokes, would you consider her beautiful? I’m just asking — not throwing stones.
